Q. IS THIS A WALK-AWAY LEASE?

A. No, this is not a walk-away lease. It is important to remember you will be signing documents to enter into a lease purchase program with Highway Sales, Inc. However, we know sometimes unexpected events happen which prevent you from continuing with your lease. When this occurs, we will work with you to find a fair resolution that works. We inspect the truck and you will be responsible for the repairs and clean up expense which allows us to prepare the truck for the next Lessee. Additional payments may be owed depending on the circumstances.

Q. IS A DOWN PAYMENT REQUIRED, AND WHEN DO PAYMENTS START?

A. No, there is no money down required. Your monthly payment is broken down to a daily lease payment. Your daily lease payment starts the day after you sign your lease, unless otherwise stated at signing.

Q. HOW LONG IS THE LEASE?

A. The length of our leases can range from 12 months to six years depending on the age and mileage on a particular truck. Brand new trucks start out with a six year lease term.

Q. IS THERE A BALLOON PAYMENT?

A. Yes, all of our leases have balloon payments.

Q. DO I OWN THE TRUCK DURING THE LEASE?

A. No, this is a lease purchase program that gives you the option to purchase the truck at the end of the lease term for the amount of the balloon payment. Ownership and title remain in the name of Highway Sales during the entire lease term. This is not a rent-to-own program that grants ownership in the truck before the end of the lease.

Q. HOW MUCH ARE LEASE PAYMENTS?

A. Lease payments and length of term vary based on the make, age, and mileage on the truck. Lease payments are divided into two parts: a base rental payment and a maintenance payment. The maintenance portion of the payment is a mileage or daily rate that is used to help pay for the maintenance and repairs needed on the truck. Both payments together make up the total monthly lease payment.

QUALIFYING

Q. DO I QUALIFY FOR THE LEASE PROGRAM?

A. To qualify you need at least one year of over-the-road tractor trailer experience within the last five years. In addition, we're looking for safe, dependable drivers who take their career seriously. For example, if you have had more than five commercial driving job changing in the past two years or you have a major issue on your driving record, we may want to hear more about your circumstances before proceeding.

Q. DO I HAVE TO HAVE GOOD CREDIT?

A. We run a credit report, and require some kind of credit, but we're not expecting you to have perfect credit. In reality, we can work with candidates with rather poor credit histories. There are a couple of credit history items you need to make us aware of. These are child support, tax liens, and other garnishments and levies. We need to make sure any garnishments or levies will not affect your ability to meet the terms of the lease.

Q. Do I need to lease the truck to a specific motor carrier?

A. No, you do not have to lease the truck to a specific motor carrier. Our lessees have the most success with Dart Transit Company, and Dart Transit Company’s track record with owner operators gets you the best deals available from Highway Sales, but trucks do not have to be leased to a specific motor carrier.

Q. DO THE TRUCKS HAVE APU'S?

A. No, the trucks available in the lease purchase program do not include auxiliary power units. All of our trucks do come with in-cab bunk heaters.

Q. DO THE TRUCKS HAVE INVERTERS?

A. Most of the trucks in our lease purchase program have inverters. If the truck you are leasing does not, just ask and we can help install one at a reasonable cost.

Q. WHAT KIND OF TRUCKS ARE AVAILABLE?

A. Our lease purchase truck inventory includes Kenworth T680s, Freightliner Cascadias and Volvos. Of course available inventory is changing regularly so availability of specific makes/models may vary.

Q. HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE PRE-OWNED TRUCKS?

A. Of course this entirely depends upon the age of the particular vehicle you are interested in. Generally our pre-owned lease trucks range from nearly new to 500,000 miles on the odometer.

Q. WHERE ARE YOUR TRUCKS LOCATED?

A. We utilize the Dart Transit Safety Lanes in four locations throughout the country to store our vehicles that are ready for sale! Addresses below:

Q. WHERE DO YOUR TRUCKS COME FROM?

A. Generally our available trucks have been part of the Dart Network fleet of trucks. Thus, these have had regular preventative maintenance services done by Dart shops on a regular schedule.

Q. WHAT KIND OF TRUCKS ARE AVAILABLE?

A. Our available inventory generally includes Kenworth T680s, Freightliner Cascadia 113s, and the occasional older Volvo. Of course availability is always changing, so reach out today to find out specific age, makes and models of our inventory!

Q. WHAT SORT OF CONDITION ARE THE TRUCKS IN?

A. The majority of trucks in our available inventory have been brought to “Trade Term” condition. However, there are some trucks that have higher estimated repair costs to get them rolling – we’re making these available for purchase as-is at exceptionally low prices! Ask us for details/photos – we will be transparent about any work we’re aware of that needs to be done.

Q. HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE PRE-OWNED TRUCKS?

A. Of course this entirely depends upon the age of the particular vehicle you are interested in. Inventory listed on the Highway Sales, Inc. website will have mileage details for each individual truck.

Q. DO THE TRUCKS HAVE APU'S OR POWER INVERTERS?

A. No, the trucks do not include auxiliary power units. Most of our trucks do come with Espar in-cab bunk heaters. The majority of the trucks available do have inverters.

Q. DO THE TRUCKS HAVE ANY AVAILABLE WARRANTY?

A. Due to the age of our inventory, there is no remaining warranty on these vehicles. You can look into options available to you as the new owner of the vehicle, but we do not market, sell, nor facilitate extended warranty for any vendors.

PAYMENTS/TITLING

Q. WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?

A. We accept payment via a Wire transfer (preferred) or Cashier’s check. Once we have confirmation the funds have cleared, title transfer work can be completed.

Q. IS A DOWN PAYMENT REQUIRED TO HOLD/RESERVE A TRUCK/TRUCKS?

A. We will ask you to sign a Bill of Sale that will serve as our agreement and assumes funding in full will be received in a timely manner. We may also require a small down payment/earnest money in some situations.

Q. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THE TITLE FOR THE PURCHASED VEHICLE(S)?

A. Titles will be signed over to the individual or business name stated on the bill of sale at the time funds are received. Packages are sent via UPS 2-day shipping. Tracking numbers can be provided upon request.
