$995/month
Don't pass up this great deal!
Dart Transit Company and Highway Sales, Inc. announce a special purchase of select used Freightliner Columbia tractors for
lease-purchase at $995 per month. The offer is available only to Dart contractors. The trucks include broad warranty coverage,
and some include a brand new electric APU.
“We’ve got extraordinary package pricing on this group of select tractors,” says John Seibel, President of Highway Sales. “Besides the outstanding
low price of $995 per month, these trucks include a strong
warranty package, and many of them include brand new electric auxiliary
power units.” The warranty coverage reduces the risk associated
with buying a used vehicle and costs only pennies per mile.

Pro Stop Warranty
Program
Pro Stop Truck Service,
Inc. is launching
a new warranty program
with very broad
coverage for this select
group of trucks.
The limited warranty covers parts and labor on all major systems except for
A/C through the duration of the lease, up to 860,000 miles or tractor reaches 9 years of age. Deductibles
apply.
10,000 BTU ELECTRIC APU
To maximize fuel economy and driver comfort, many of the trucks include
Dometic electric Auxiliary Power Units. The units are rated at 10,000 BTU’s cooling and can operate with either battery power
or shore power. Each unit includes a battery pack of 8 high capacity batteries that are recharged by a high-capacity alternator
during the truck’s normal operation.
Pedro Vela, a Dart contractor from Edinburg, Texas, has operated one of the units for several months and reports that the air
conditioner runs up to 12 hours during night-time use, and recharges in about six hours while he is driving. “If you drive during
the day and sleep at night, this unit works great,” he says. The unit is very quiet because it doesn’t need its own diesel engine.
Vela credits his Dometic unit with improving his over-all fuel economy by 15% by eliminating most of his idling time.
The APU system supplies heat in the winter with an Espar heater, which burns diesel fuel. “One of the things I like about this
APU is that the extra batteries are a back up for the truck batteries,” Vela says, and that's one less thing for him to worry about.
